As we begin 2026, Team Bircher is proud to continue spotlighting adoptable pets from the Siouxland Humane Society. Each month, we share the stories of animals currently waiting for loving homes — helping give them the visibility they deserve.

This January, we’re honored to introduce Monello and Marina.

🐶 Meet Monello

Monello is a young pitbull mama (approximately 1–2 years old) who came to the shelter in October after being tied to a fence with her puppies. Her puppies have all found homes — now it’s Monello’s turn.

She loves treats, playing fetch, and staying right by her people’s side. Monello is a true “shadow dog” who thrives with structure and purpose. She would do best in a home without cats and may need slow introductions with other dogs.

🐱 Meet Marina

Marina is a 14-year-old senior cat who has also been at the shelter since October. She is diabetic and requires insulin twice daily with meals, given consistently at the same time each day.

With proper care, Marina’s fur is growing back and her sweet personality truly shines. She is calm, gentle, and would love a quiet home where she can simply enjoy companionship and comfort.
